Just recently my dear mother passed away leaving the family distraught and full of sadness.  Someone was needed who could competently and sympathetically speak on behalf of the family at the funeral. Roxanne was engaged for the task. She was the perfect person, there for us before, during and after the funeral. She spoke so eloquently about my Mum’s life and the love she was held in by friends and family that I cannot thank her enough.  Thanks again Roxanne for a job well done.

Roxanne performed our naming ceremony for our two children. She was outstanding, the way the ceremony was planned, to helpful tips to performing the service on the day.  She was amazing and everyone commented on how great she was and what a lovely afternoon it was.

Everyone commented on how lovely the service was, how nice it was to not have any religious references, and also to have such a positive person reading with no reference to anything morbid!  Everyone felt you done a fantastic job in celebrating Mum’s life.  I know what impact you had on us all and how your energy helped us on the day.

What can I say? We couldn’t have asked for a better tribute to X. So many people said what a beautiful service it was and they felt you must have known X to have spoken as you did.  You really put your heart and soul into it. A friend of ours said it was the best service she’d ever been to, and she’s in her 70’s so has been to a few!  I don’t think we could have given X a better send off, thanks to you.  We are so grateful for all your help.  Thank you just doesn’t seem enough, but we do thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Yesterday I was lucky enough to be a part of a service performed by Roxy and oh my God! I was completely blown away by the way it was delivered! The attention to detail and accuracy of the service she delivers was stunning and I can honestly say that there was not a dry eye in the room.

Thank you so much for today. Your service for Dad was amazing. One of the ladies who was at the funeral thought you must have been a close friend of Dad’s because of the way you spoke about him. She could not believe it when I told her you had never met him, and had only gone on the information we gave you. She said you spoke like you had known him all your life!  

We will now start to put our lives back together in the best way we can, but your help and compassion today will stay with us for a long time.

The feedback from everyone we’ve spoken to has been brilliant. When you hear people say that’s exactly how they would like their own funeral to go – you have to sit up and take notice.

I am sure that was in no small part down to the way you led us through the process from the first interaction at my mother’s house.

You were brilliant yesterday and handled a difficult time for us all so well… that makes you a special kind of person. It really interests me how you have come to make this a choice of career. Whatever the reason you certainly have chosen the right path in life.

We had many comments at Prested Hall afterwards about the service and how well you conducted it. We all really felt that you spoke as if you really knew X, and that must be so hard to get right.

Dear Roxanne, I just want to thank you so very very much for the beautiful service that you put together for X yesterday. Your kind and loving words really helped us all and I know that X would have been so happy with her final goodbye.  As is the case with funerals it was a sad day, but in some ways a happy day which was inspired by your beautiful comments about X and the family.

I would also like to thank you for your encouragement with my eulogy. It was your kind words plus the strength that I felt from X that enabled me to get through it, and I was so proud to be able to contribute to my beautiful niece’s farewell.

Thank you so much for yesterday. You brought everything together seamlessly, enabling us all to reflect, cry and laugh in an atmosphere of love and respect.  Although you didn’t know Dad I thought that you brought him into the room.  It was great!

Your presence was inclusive and calming (we all needed the latter!!) which made things so much easier for us all to bear.

Wow what a lady! Roxanne is incredible, she was fantastic all through our wedding planning stages helping us choose readings and ceremony music. I am soo happy we had Roxanne perform our ceremony, she tailored it to us perfectly making it such an emotional and joyous day for us all. I want to tell you that so many people on Tuesday said what a wonderful service it was and today we have had letters, emails and phone calls from people who were there all, saying how special it was and that they’ve never been to a funeral like it before and didn’t know it was possible to do such a thing.  Most people were saying that it’s the kind of service they would like to have and that Dad would’ve approved.  Thank you so much for making the day bearable, I was worried how we were going to get through it but somehow your calm voice gave me the strength.  I am so overwhelmed by all the positive comments that came afterwards, I must admit I was a bit worried about what people would think about it not being a traditional service but it was absolutely perfect for us and Dad, I can’t thank you enough Roxanne.

The perfect person to write and perform a totally individual ceremony. Roxy devised our wedding for us from scratch, with exchange of rings, a hand fasting and even took a reading which didn’t quite work in its original format and turned it into the perfect expression of our feelings. You really can have it your way!

Your respectful light hearted and confident delivery of all we had discussed was better than we hoped. I chuckled ‘inwardly’ that you had worn a sky blue blouse – it was noted and enjoyed. Many people commented on the service and that’s a credit to you and Mum & Martins beautiful words.

I just wanted to take the opportunity to thank you, for what I am reliably informed was the most personal cremation service people had ever witnessed. For me, if I am honest, it was all a bit of a blur, but it was very reassuring looking up and seeing you there. I think this is testament to your effort and our thought.

We are all completely shell shocked at the turn of events but I am sure we will look back in the not too distant future and think, we gave our mum the best send off possible.

It was a shame you couldn’t come back to the house. I am not sure if this is your policy or if you were busy, I really hope it wasn’t an oversight in asking you on our part. I am told not.

Just a short note on behalf of all the family, friends and relatives for your empathy, expertise and professionalism in conducting the ceremony on Monday whereby X was finally laid to rest in a peaceful spot, overlooking the strood at Feldy View Mersea.

 

A very sad day, but the weather was bright and warm (unlike yesterday’s rainy day) and the doves flew off into the breeze which we all thought was a fitting tribute.

Just a message to say I received the scrip OK. The service was every thing we wished it to be and a bit more, it sounded even better professionally read than it did reading it in my head. Everyone commented that it was a really great service, I know people probably always say that but my dads sisters are the same as my dad was and would not have given a positive comment if they didn’t think it was deserved.

The nice service made the rest of the day a little better.
